The Cubic CM1107N Dual Beam IR 5,000ppm CO2 sensor module is designed to monitor and detect carbon dioxide levels using state of the art dual-beam NDIR technology at an incredibly low price. Simply add 5VDC power and a UART signal reader like Termite to monitor CO2 levels from your PC.

Dual beam NDIR technology makes this sensor perfect for applications like greenhouse growing or auto garages that are not regularly exposed to ambient air. Instead, it uses a 2nd reference detector that is continuously compared to the actual detector to compensate for long-term CO2 level drift.

Nice unit, needs a little work

I have been evaluating the CM1107 dual beam sensor in the context of environmental control for container farming. The documentation is clear and detailed. It was easy to implement Java I2C RaspberryPI libraries for this sensor using pi4j. Physically the unit is a little awkward to work with. The pins are pitched at 0.1" horizontally but not lengthwise. This makes it difficult to mount it on a standard breadboard or 'hat' type development board and would require custom machining/drilling when mounting on a production board. Also the pins are a little short, some sockets don't make reliable contact.

No calibration gas to verify against but outdoor reports 370ppm and indoor during night, 440ppm-700ppm and back down to 500ppm.

Used to verify my bedroom air was good enough.

Great device, very accurate

I used this with my raspberry pi zero w. I used the I2C interface to communicate with it, but it also supports UART, which is great! I compared the readings with another NDIR-based CO2 meter (also with an internal reference) and the readings of both were in close agreement.
